The 39th edition of Fazer a Festa - an event with five shows, exhibitions and debates organized by the company Teatro Art'Imagem - was scheduled for April, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, happening now, from 10 to 19 of July, in a different format that favors the outdoors.
This festival seeks to be a great observatory of what is done for children and youth in Portugal.
The shows are artistic works that treat theater as art and not as mere entertainment.
“We are not teachers. We are artists. We don't make theater a lesson. Children come to the theater to be awakened to the arts and we talk about all the things that children hear about in the world and there are no taboo themes in theater for children and youth ”, said the artistic director, José Leitão.
“Therefore, in addition to the shows, we will have a great debate about the current situation. What did Covid-19 cancel and what to do in the face of this situation, what was lost, what will be gained? Because we have to win. That is how humanity is winning things. And the theater follows the evolution of humanity ”, said the director.
Access to all activities will be free by appointment.
