Fado is back to Maus Hábitos

The August program is joined by Mr. Gallini, LaBaq, Miguel Ramos and Maria Calapez, animation cinema from around the world and new voices from the national comedy

Since June 2020, Maus Hábitos is open from 12 pm to 23 pm, from Tuesday to Saturday, and on Sunday from 12 pm to 16 pm, with the Vices of Table restaurant in continuous service

In August, the Fado is back in Bad habits shaped intimate dinner, having as host one of the voices that has stood out most in the panorama of the musical genre. Miguel Bandeirinha was born in Porto in 1994 and in 2010 started to write some of the poems he sings today.

Since 2010 he has edited records, participated in television and radio programs, took the “voice of a people” across borders and shared the stage with great names in the national fado. At the Bad habits, will be accompanied by André Mariano on Portuguese guitar e Rafael Carvalho Jr. on classical guitar and each night will bring a new guest: Helena Carvalho (8), Ricardo Monteiro (15), Carla Cortez (22) and accordionist Arnaldo Fonseca (29).

The entry has the value of 22 € per person e includes dinner specially designed for the occasion around the typical portuguese gastronomy: entrance of sausages and cheeses, cod with bread or roast ham, wine or sangria and, for dessert, brownie of dark chocolate or handmade ice cream. During the month, if on Tuesdays continue to give space to the poetic-literary imagery of Ana deus, which presents us with new performances and readings every week, the farms bring different names of the new national music: the fresh rock of Mr. Gallini, Bruno Monteiro's solo project (Stone Dead), the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's limitless pop LaBaq, the guitar of Miguel Ramos (OtrotortO), and the experimental electronics of Maria Calapez of the O'clock collective. The concerts are part of the “Sons à Mesa” cycle, include a snack menu and cost € 10 per seat.

A format that also remains for the rubric Comedy at the Table, which this month continues with curated and set by comedian Ricardo Couto and who to join João Faquire, Bruno Henriques (Young Conservative on the Right), Rafael Pascoal and André Dias.

For cinema sessions, which take place on Wednesdays, August is also a novelty. THE 12 e 19, Maus Hábitos receives the sessions “Monstra on the loose”, A new concept from the Lisbon festival dedicated to animation cinema, with a relevant international history. With respect to artistic programming of Saco Azul, a new exhibition will be open until 9 September Mupi Gallerycycle Poetic or Political? with curated by João Baeta. Sebastião Resende is the guest artist of this month, with the presentation of "Mummify at Night", whose opening takes place on July 30, from 19h to 23h.

In the exhibition hall, you can see until the 30th of August, the exposure Other Ports - Other Views, which presents the photographic work of five women artists coming from Macau / China: Margarida Gouveia, Ao Mine, Peng Yun, Xing Danwen, O Zhang. The curatorial choice of Clara Brito and Gu Zhenqing highlights the reflection of the role of women as a political subject, with different perspectives and perspectives, also pointing to a debate on the “grammar of contemporary feminisms”.
