Porta-Jazz is back with an outdoor concert program

After having seen their activity interrupted due to the current pandemic context, Porta-Jazz now resumes a weekly practice, already 10 years old.

The new stage, named Quintal Porta-Jazz, will receive eight performances until August 9

From this Wednesday, July 8, the Porto musicians association Porta-Jazz resumes its concert practice and bring jazz back to the city, this time outdoors and with reserve.

With a start always scheduled for 19 pm, over the course of a month, names like: Demian Cabaud, with the “Aparición” project; the trio composed by the guitarist Nuno Trocado, the bass player Sérgio Tavares and the Spanish drummer Rodrigo Constanzo; or Esmae Jazz Ensemble; or the Eurico Costa Trio, with the guitarist from Porto Eurico Costa, Demian Cabaud on the double bass and Marcos Cavaleiro on the battery.

Also on Wednesday, July 15, the space will feature two concerts from the second edition of the Robalo Festival, starting at 21 pm, with the projects Kiri and Samuel Blaser / Marc Ducret.

Finally, on the first two Sundays of August, the “backyard” stage receives an extension of the Jazz 2020 festival.

In a partnership between the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Porta-Jazz Association and Jazz ao Centro Clube, this event, divided between Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, brings to the city Invicta, on August 2, at 19 pm, the quartet composed by saxophonist Ricardo Toscano, pianist Rodrigo Pinheiro, cellist Miguel Mira and Gabriel Ferrandini on drums and André Rosinha Trio on August 9th.
