Since the 27th of June and with a defined schedule
The Miragaia area, in Porto, already has the long-awaited escalators in operation that connect to the high elevation of the city center.
The inauguration was initially scheduled for March, but with the appearance of Covid-19 the whole process changed.
Since Saturday, June 27, escalators in Miragaia have served the population of Monte dos Judeus in 08h00 to 21h00.
The equipment represents an investment of about 677 thousand euros and it fits into the general strategy of developing an interconnected network of pedestrian paths assisted by mechanized means. This is the “Pedestrian Paths Mechanized Connections - Miragaia” project, designed in three sections: Escadas das Sereias, Escadas do Monte dos Judeus and adjacent area, and the area surrounding the streets of Cidral de Cima and Cidral de Baixo.
