Announced three years ago, the project was stopped, reformed and is now underway
O former Casa Forte space - which occupies part of the Block of Praça D. João I - in Baixa do Porto, has planned a real estate project that will consist of housing, commerce and a hotel.
The future development, announced three years ago but whose works have only just started, maintains a strong housing component and the hotel unit is still planned.
However, according to Idealista news, "now the bet on the tourism component goes through a hybrid concept, which adapts itself to the needs of those who need long or short stays."
The project will also have a square in the interior, which should include a common garden open to the public, called Bonjardim City Block at the time of the presentation, just over three years ago (May 2017), and which should be renamed Bonjardim Plaza.
In June of that year the works of demolition, excavation, peripheral containment and support of the terrain started, but the project ended up not advancing at the expected pace, resulting in a huge crater more than a dozen meters deep, which has raised some concern, especially among traders and residents.
The project is developed on a plot of land with 28.500 square meters (m2), which results from a set of land integrated in a block between the streets Sá da Bandeira, Bonjardim and Formosa, close to the Mercado do Bolhão and Avenida dos Aliados.
