From November 21st to 24th Matosinhos is the capital of the industry
The most recent data point to a notable growth in the Portuguese industry, with an increasingly relevant weight in the national GDP.
The demonstration of this sector's successful trajectory and all its innovation capacity will occupy the entire Exponor, from November 21st to 24th, for the 17th EMAF, International Fair of Machinery, Equipment and Services for Industry.
The index of turnover in the industry registered a nominal year-on-year variation of 9,7 percent, with emphasis on the foreign market, where growth surpassed the results of the national market, with an increase of around 12 percent. Technology is increasingly driving this development, helping to pull traditional industries that are increasingly equipped for fierce external competition.
"At the forefront of solutions and technologies of the future" is the motto of this year's edition, with the 450 exhibitors at the fair undertaking a true industrial revolution, what economists call the 4.0 revolution, marked by the convergence of digital, physical and biological technologies.
Innovations in industrial automation, revolutionary machines that enhance production, robotics as a differentiating factor in business innovation, new cost rationalization systems, new equipment and products will be shown over the 35 thousand square meters of commercialized area, with several interactive stands and live demonstrations of capital gains made available to the market.
Largest international participation ever
EMAF has already crossed national borders in previous editions, but in 2018 it broke records of international presence, both in terms of the presence of exhibitors and in terms of the number of foreign visitors, which confirms the growing importance of the event in the international context of industry sector. The large international representation continues to come from Spain, but other stops will be represented at the fair, such as France, Germany or Italy.
O Innovation Competition for eighteen years which is a way to reward the best that is done in the industrial area. The ninth edition will certainly return to be one of the highlights of this edition of EMAF, promoting the latest technologies and solutions for the industry. It is a partnership with the 'Revista Robótica' and which puts into consideration the aspects of design, originality and operability of the products presented.
The jury will be chaired by professor J. Norberto Pires, professor at the University of Coimbra and director of Revista Robótica.
In the last edition of EMAF, 430 national and foreign companies participated, reaching 42.800 visitors. 2500 buyers also passed through the fair, coming from 24 different countries.
