The classification of “street stage” of Rally de Portugal, whose start is scheduled for this Friday, May 20, at 19 pm, in the historic center of Porto, will be the kick-off for the start of the approximately 300 initiatives that the Porto City Council has programmed within the scope of the São João festivities. Among the novelties presented last Monday, May 16, are the holding of several shows in Campanhã and at the Collection Station of the STCP of São Roque.

The most popular of the city's festivities, which traditionally has as its main stage the entire route from the riverside of Porto to the parish of the mouth of the Douro, continues to expand, in this way, São João to regions further away from the center of Invicta . There will also be space for a Circus Festival in the gardens of the Crystal Palace, which will feature 15 free shows, three new artistic projects included in the Urban Art Program “Sunweel”, a collective installation in the upper water mirror in the Aliados and an intervention at Largo de São Domingos.

For those looking for other types of activities, the program also includes a Craft Beer Festival at the Palácio de Cristal, an Urban Art market at the Pavilhão Rosa Mota and the broadcast of the European 2016 games on giant screens installed at Praça D. João I and in the Transparent Building.
